"first impressions of urgent care"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

Having arrived at the hospital as requested by my GP. There were four toilets all except one were out of order . I was told to sit in reception which I did . Can't believe I sat for over seven hours only to be told it was best for an x-Ray on my shoulder . Not as GP had requested a chest x-ray !

I could hardly walk as my feet had gone numb due to a compression fracture and trapped nerves . I had asked when I was going to be called and just being told 10 mins . What made it worse was that a guy sitting next to me shut his finger in a door . Saw a doctor , had an X-ray and was seen after to see doctor again . His total time there just over an hour ! Not fair system and actually left in more pain than when I had walked in .

We're really sorry that you had a bad experience at our urgent care centre at the New QEII - it sounds like it needs to be followed up quickly - would you mind emailing us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net so that we can get this started for you?
