"General Surgery Day care"

Arrived on Sept 3rd 2015 for a general surgery planned operation. Finding the car park was easy and there is also a shuttle bus that runs frequently to the Main Building, Brunel. Directions are simple, designated by gate numbers after scanning in your appointment details. Mine was gate 21 for general surgery. I was there at the designated time of 7am and was seen immediately by very efficient reception staff and welcomed. Everything is calm and clean and bright. After being called to surgery I was designated a very efficient nurse and was also met my two anesthetists who discussed my options and I signed the consent form. All paperwork efficiently completed and double signed. had the usual tests before surgery, was talked to theater and was met by the staff. Completely put at ease, anesthetic was given to me in two goes with full commentary of what was happening and then I awoke an hour later in recovery with a designated recovery nurse. What a service, a credit to the City of Bristol - well done NHS
