My two year old daughter was referred by her GP to audiology and ENT department for hearing loss and glue ear. Initially it took 4 months to have a hearing test, a long time in the life of a toddler slipping behind on milestones.
Hearing loss and glue ear was confirmed but we had to wait another 4 months to see a Dr.
At which time we were told the hearing test was 'out of date' being over 3 months old and we would be sent a joint appointment for audiology and consultant appointment in the same day.
Waited another month for such appointment however received a phone call prior to this appointment to say we had been booked onto the wrong day and there was no consultant clinic running.
When I didn't receive another consultant appointment I phoned the department, only to be told we would only be booked to see the consultant again if the audiology staff thought it necessary.
During the audiology appointment we were told that there was a consultant clinic running but it was over booked and we would be re booked to see a consultant regardless of her audiology results.
We have now finally received this appoint which is another 8 weeks away.
"Disorganised and slow."
