I made an online enquiry stating what exact problem that I wanted a second opinion. I was told that the surgeon would be able to see me which was great.
When arranging the appointment at the initial phone call I informed them I would be getting a referral from my GP and several emails later also discussing this. My GP subsequently referred me and agreed to fund it on the NHS which was clearly explained to the case manager yet they referred me to a private clinic even though they knew I was going through a serious and tormenting time with my condition and I have now been landed with a £300 bill.
As a tax payer that contributes to the system I am fed up of being told going private is the only way to get treatment. I have been tormented enough by my diagnosis and am in a complete state without having to deal with this now!
"referral/enquiries team poor poor poor"
