"Triage"

About: Leighton Hospital

Yesterday I went back into Triage at 31 weeks & 5 days due to the fact I've been Contracting for nearly a week and the pains are worsening.

Whilst in Triage we over heard a doctor & 2 midwives having a descission about if I go into premature labour I can go home until they can see a head & then they will just catch it laughing as they say this.

I had my son at 32 weeks by an Emergancy C-section due to the placenta coming away & find it had to joke about premature labour as this has left my son with brain damage.

It is safe to say I will not be returning to this hospital and I am looking to transfer my care to another hospital.

If you do not wish to feel like an inconvenience or a joke for the staff to laugh at please avoid.

Please accept my apologies for your recent experience in triage. I am aware that you have since met with staff from the hospital who have addressed your concerns and that you have posted an update in relation to this. Many thanks for taking the time to do this as it is much appreciated. Andy Langley, Matron, Women, Children and Sexual Health Division.
