What I liked

From the initial appointment in outpatients to the surgical assessment unit /day unit and ward 31 everything was fully explained to me.

I was a patient on ward 31 twice, the first time with severe pain due to cholecystitis and both times the ward staff were very friendly and without fail did everything they could to make my stay and post surgery care as comfortable and pain free as possible.

So could I pass on my thanks to an excellent bunch of staff there, who looked after a very frightend patient and wife throughout.

What could be improved

When I was discharged I was told I could go home at 8am by the consultant.

Unfortunately they ward staff had to wait until the afternoon to get my discharge paper completed and my tablets from the pharmacy. It meant I was sat in a bed that I didn't need to be in for over 6 hours, which was a waste of everyone's time
