"Acute care unit"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford)

Very happy with nursing hospital, but feel pushed out at a busy period on Friday evening, prior to Bank Holiday weekend. Still feel very unwell. No complaints re nurses who are lovely, but not given explanation/ follow up, as to why I was discharged, still feeling unwell. Exeter hospital as a whole, have been exremely good with my care in the past, and would be a shame if excellent standards of care were to decline, due to budgetary constraints.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience and thank you for your kind words with regard to the high standards of care you received. We are sorry to hear that you felt pushed out and that we did not effectively communicate to you with regard to your discharge. This would not have been the intention of the staff. The senior nurse for the area is always looking to improve the patient experience and communication with patients is a key part of this. She will discuss your feedback with the ward team.

The Senior Nurse for this area would be happy to talk to you via telephone, or meet with you, to discuss your comments in more depth if you feel this would be helpful. If you would like to do this, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01392 402093.
