I have just recently moved to Manchester and the dentist I am registered with now has got a waiting list of 4-5 months the other once I visited 9-12 months. I can not believe that Manchester surroundings have not got enough NHS dentists that is a total joke.
I came on Thursday morning for the first time to this what you call an emergency dental A&E in so much pain as this pain did not go away even I was taking paracetamol as I can not take ibuprofen as I have Astma.
The person on reception was overly friendly and gave me and advise only card no 5 and asked me to sit down in the waiting area which I did. I waited to be forgotten for nearly 3 hours and the member of reception staff was shouting any more advice only tickets. I went to the desk just to be told by the nurse who done the triage that I can't be seen today and that was Thursday 27/8/2015 and gave me an emergency help phone number to ring to get am appointment with an NHS dentist which failed as there were no appointments anywhere.
They also told me the next time I come I have to be there at 7:45 this is when there open and I was but on arrival the following day Friday the waiting room was already packed with people and I was been given a white ticket with the number 11.
Again I was waiting nearly 2 and a half hours to be refused again as the same person on the triage told me they only can take 6 emergency patients on one day.
My question now to you is "why have than card holders 7-14 or what ever numbers you have have to wait as it's clear that there treatment is getting refused!
I paid £6 for both days in the car park opposit plus wasted time and petrol to be turned away.
Is that how a health system should work?
So so so disappointed
