Thursday is the highlight of my week. It’s a joy to put my jacket on and come over to Castleview day centre. I lost my wife last year and it’s left a big hole.
I like the company here, there’s always a laugh, there’s nothing serious about it. It keeps my spirits high, I love it.
I enjoy the meals, they are excellent. We play bowls and have a great laugh at each other when the ball goes off in the wrong direction; we have a great comradery.
Alan, one of the staff, is a great comedian and keeps us all amused.
My wife had dementia and went to another day centre. Sometimes her bus would drop her off at Castleview and the staff here would make a fuss of her.
It’s with a heavy step I go home, especially now it’s to an empty house.
