About: University Hospital Wishaw / General Surgery (Wards 16-18)

(as the patient),

I attended Wishaw General on Wednesday for day surgery, This was my first experience of being in hospital and wanted to share my experience. All staff that I came into contact with were attentive, professional and helped to put my mind at ease. They explained exactly what would happen during the procedure and were thorough with all checks before I went to theatre. I was impressed at the cleanliness of the ward and in particular the operating theatre where it was clear a high standard was maintained. I'd like to thank all the staff for their help and care, ensuring I was well looked after during my stay at the hospital.

It’s really important that you have confidence in the staff and the treatment and care you receive while in hospital. It’s really rewarding for staff to be recognised and thanked for their professionalism and dedication and it also inspires and motivates the rest of the team.

I am delighted that you noted the environment to be of a high standard of cleanliness. The teams strive to ensure that cleanliness standards are maintained at high levels at all times and it is reassuring to hear your positive feedback regarding this.
