My daughter had a colonoscopy in June '15, she was only 15 at the time.
The whole process was treated very sensitively as my daughter was obviously quite apprehensive.
Due to her age she was admitted to the children's ward and the staff made sure she was very comfortable and at ease when inserting her canula.
They then accompanied us both to the Endoscopy department and stayed with us during the colonoscopy.
During the colonoscopy the staff were extremely sensitive and friendly and made sure my daughter was as comfortable as possible.
Following the procedure they made sure she was comfortable before taking her back to the care of the children's ward.
The gastro consultant came down to the ward to see my daughter to make sure she was okay and to also give feedback on the colonoscopy.
The Children's ward staff then brought my daughter something to eat and drink and made sure she was well enough to leave.
Thank you to both the Children's ward nurses and the gastro team for making my daughter's procedure as pleasant as possible.
