"Left and Right hand do not know what they are..."

About: Scarborough General Hospital

Took wife into A&E after reception refused to book an orthopaedic appointment without her "being a patient" - we had spend many a pleasant hour at A&E nr Gt Yarmouth previous evening, and explained she had a broken tibia, which was in a cast and Xrays had been forwarded , we just needed an appointment, "no, you must see a Doctor to look at it" - we reasoned how could they if it were in a cast, no joy. On arrival, seen reception (no change), then the assessment nurse (no change - you have to see the Doctor). After 3 1/2 hours waiting around we saw a Doctor who was angry that reception/triage nurse had not sorted it, they did not wish to see it as they couldn't, it was in a cast!! Then reception refused to book appointment, until told that Doctor said "they must". Even then they gave us an appointment for 3 days time, on questioning this "it is first one". So, we rang the department directly (next day) and they said, no, appointment for tomorrow is available - only 2 days wait.
