Initially at the reception window in A&E I was a little concerned that everyone in the small waiting room was listening as personal details were shouted through the perspex, this could be much improved. Waiting times were displayed and staff appeared relaxed and friendly. I was seen within 30 mins for initial observation, was then sent to x-ray 10 mins later, 15 mins later I was sent to Ambulatory Care and checked there as A&E were happy that I was in need of further tests and medication. They also said that I would be processed quicker. Ambulatory Care was well signed and the staff there were efficient, effective, friendly and worked very well as a team. The AC clinic was clean and light with staff present all the time. I was seen within 10 mins and bloods were taken. There was a wait of an hour for results and a further 30 mins for the consultant to appear. Everything was always explained to me and The staff went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. I was given medication that I needed and was away quickly. I felt safe in the hands of the staff and would recommend KGH to those in the middle geographically as my other options were Northampton or Leicester. I chose well and feel strongly that our NHS staff are committed in KGH.
