I am a cancer patient and was admitted from A&E with terrible stomach pains. I was transferred to
Linford Ward Basildon. It was the most terrible experience I have ever had. The cleanliness was non existent, I was in the ward for 5 days. One day my bed was not changed, after I came back from the shower there was no where to put my gown so it lay on the chairs in my room. I was told I would be having a CT scan but this never happened. After having my treatment of I think saline drips and antibiotics I was left, even my friends who came to see me could not believe the treatment and they work in different parts of the NHS. There was no up to date information on my progress including what meals I should be having. I thought this is happening because I am over 70 and I felt discriminated against. After my treatment all I had done was blood tests taken and left. This could have been done at home. I have been Basildon many times and have had the highest praise for the hospital but this time I felt discarded I was even told I would be moving to Orsett Ward never happened.Very unhappy.
"Unbelievable"
