"Emergency C-Section"

This is the second time I have given birth at Gloucester Royal hospital. First time around I received excellent care and this time around you didn't disappoint either!

I had an emergency C-Section at the end of March due to having an infection and my baby being in distress. I was made fully aware as to what was happening at every step of the way. Unfortunately during my section I had some serious complications due to tearing and a big bleed. Ended up spending time in The high decency unit and then spent almost a week on the maternity ward.

During my stay all the staff were extremely helpful, polite and kind. I can't thank them enough for the excellent care my daughter and I received.

I have recently been back for my follow up appointment with the doctor who helped during my c-section. It is due to this doctor and the other staff present on the day of my surgery that I didn't have a hysterectomy. They chose to save my uterus instead and I have gone on to heal remarkably well. I can even have another baby if we would like to try!

I not sure if we have another baby but if we do try then I know I will be in excellent hands at the Gloucester Royal.
