We arrived at Hereford A&E with just two people in front of us. Other people started arriving some with more serious injuries, some with less. We were fine about the people with more serious injuries going in first. Most of the people who were in there had a right foot problem but none of them looked in much pain.
Also in A&E was a woman who had been in a car crash. She was brought in by ambulance and even she had to wait for people with foot problems who had come in over two hours later before she was seen. We noticed that there weren't any ambulances coming in. My father inquired why people with less serious injuries went in first to see a doctor even when they arrived later than people with serious injuries such as the lady in a car crash. About two minutes later a nurse came into the waiting room and had a go at my father for asking and said an hour and a half was not an unreasonable waiting time.
My father tried to explain that he was not complaining about the waiting time, he just wanted some information on why people were going in before the lady in the car crash, another man who arrived before my father and my father, all of which had arrived before anyone else.
We were waiting for three hours before we went in. We felt like my father had just been put to the bottom of the list because he had asked a simple question. Everybody who was in the waiting room at the time when the nurse came in said that she was rude and she should not be talking to patients like that. For this reason I will definitely NOT be recommending this hospital to ANYONE.
