The changes in the hospital on the whole are very positive since the 90s and in fact since last year. The hospital entrance has improved and you are naturally led to the Information desk which is generally manned by very helpful individuals, who will if need be walk with or even take you in a wheelchair to the department of your choice. The league of Friends shop is now exceptionally well stocked offering a wide range of food and gifts, especially their cards (which I buy many of, as you never know when you will need one!). The A&E department is a work in progress, and generally is extremely busy no change there then; although may I add this the number of people going through there has quadruped since the 90s (so well done to every one who works there). The wards I was in this time were tidy and clean; obviously there are times when they weren't as they do contain sick people but any mess was soon cleaned up, though people do need to take some responsibility for the items they use,for instance, towels were just thrown on the floor, toilet and hand tissues were just dropped and left, staff are not servants! The doctors I met this time were fabulous, and they really were interested in what I had to say about my care; as who knows your body best but you! Any way I better stop now, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you x
