About: University Hospital Aintree / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

70 year old taken by ambulance with acute pain and breathlessness. Waited in corridor for over 1hr 30 mins. When accepted onto A&E was diagnosed pneumonia at approximately 10pm. Was offered no pain relief or medication. Admitted to AMAU. Was handed antibiotic 5pm the following day and was left sitting in a waiting room for discharge as "sick people needed her bed" If a non medical person knows that if you're treated with medication at the start, this would prevent the infection to become worse. Then you would think qualified staff would know this.

Took my mum to Whiston. Was admitted straight away. Given pain relief straight away. Started on IV antibiotic straight away. Oxygen straight away. Turns out pneumonia had spread to both Lungs because of the lack of care given at Aintree! Still in Hospital now having fantastic care with staff that are so dedicated to their job. Shame on Aintree Hosptal. If you have no compassion and quality of care. Nursing really isn't the profession you should be in.
