"89 year old man sent home at 2am"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Father in law had a mini-stroke in the afternoon and was taken to Treliske by ambulance. After being left in a corridor until the evening he was told he could go home at 8pm. He had no transport, no money and no keys.

We rang and said care could not be given at home at this notice as his wife was also very ill.

Patient transport was promised but no car arrived.

In the end he got a lift in an ambulance (by a driver breaking the rules) and got home at 2.30am.

Early the next day Treliske telephoned and asked him to return as having had a stroke he should attend the TIA clinic ASAP. So should have been admitted but to fudge the statistics and avoid an admission he was thrown out.

Disgusting hospital I live in terror of ever needing medical help there.
