"Wonderful staff that are keeping a sinking ship..."

About: Croydon University Hospital

Went in on Monday evening after a suspected seizure which was a first time occurrence. Unfortunately due to miscommunication I was referred to the wrong department which added 3 hours onto my waiting time which ended up being 9 hours all together. However, every single member of staff I came into contact with whilst there was absolutely lovely and made me feel very reassured.

Could do with an improvement of communication between staff members and also from staff to patients which would drastically speed up the whole process. However seeing how hard every single staff member there was working I was happy to wait.

I was in either the Patient Care 24 ward or Intensive Care ward (I'm not entirely sure) and I would like to pass on my sincerest thanks to the nurse named who was working that night. I saw them caring for a very upset elderly woman and they were absolutely lovely. The nurse then looked after me for the last few hours I was there and they really were fantastic. What a lovely lovely person.

Dear Anna

I am very sorry to learn of the long time it took for you to receive your treatment, but pleased that our staff were able to keep you reassured. I have passed on your comments to the teams involved in your care so that they can review their processes and feedback your kind words. I hope you are now recovering well.

Graham Richardson, Deputy Manager for PALS and Complaints pals@croydonhealth.nhs.uk

Kind regards
