Although not completely the hospitals fault, I was utterly disgusted with the approach from the reception staff at out of hours working out of the fracture clinic on a weekend.
I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time- feeling extremely unwell. I gave my name, twice, to the receptionist who told me to provide a urine sample and take a seat.
2 hours later, I overheard a receptionist talking on the phone speaking my name and wondering if I had turned up at another clinic.
I got up and explained that they were talking about me- they asked if I had checked in.
The fact that I had arrived on time and checked in was disregarded. The receptionist went bright red and said 'oh sorry, that was my fault'.
So, after waiting two hours already- another few people managed to get seen before me due to my apparent 'non-arrival' and then I had to wait for another clinician to be called in as they had a half hour gap of doctors. The doctor I saw was lovely. On the way out- no sincere apology from the receptionists about my long wait due to their mistake- nothing. Thanks very much, you made my experience a rubbish one!
