I was absolutely disgusted at the care my nan was given in east Surrey hospital. She ended up being readmitted after the hospital failed to provide a care plan when she was discharged the first time. The doctor rarely stuck to plans for meetings, all of which we were only told about the day before so it was understandably difficult to get time off work to attend. They only ever turned up when we weren't there, which isn't particularly good when my nan was admitted with psychotic depression so was in no state to tell us what they said, and the nurses didn't seem to know much either. Most of the nurses themselves were very kind and helpful, but they could only do so much. The second time my nan was discharged, she was unknowingly only given 4 of her seven medications, and two of the most important, the anti depressants and anti psychotics were among the three which were forgotten. It was only after she got bad again that we realized. This is most appalling as a condition which shouldn't have been the most difficult to treat has been stretched out for much too long and has been very detrimental to the health of my grandmother. The doctor even said during her first stay in hospital that she'd be sorted in a week. Two months later and she's only slightly better. If I ever get sick I pray that I do not get sent to East Surrey Hospital.
"terrible care, no communication"
