"First baby there"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

I had my first son there in June this year and was pretty nervous about it due to the recent CQC report. However, despite the tired buildings, poor admin (during antenatal especially) and over-stretched staff I found the whole experience incredibly positive due to fantastic and committed staff that work there. From the midwives to the cleaners and on to the amazing doctors - I hope that Barts appreciate and acknowledge what a hard-working and dedicated work force they have. I was there for seven days as my son was admitted to special care so I had time to observe and experience most of what went on at the maternity ward and, whilst its not ideal to spend seven days on a maternity ward, my stay was made as comfortable as possible, all my questions and concerns were answered promptly and there was always a smiling face to support me during what was quite a stressful time. I was also given excellent breastfeeding support and am not sure I would have persevered has it not been for their help. Thank you to everyone at Whipps (although please sort out your admin!)

Congratulations on the birth of your son. We hope that you are settling in well.

Thank you for taking time to give us your feedback on your stay in our maternity ward. Being a new mum, this must have been concerning and stressful for you.

We have shared your comments and your thanks with the team in maternity that cared for you and your baby.

Best wishes

Barts Health NHS Trust
