The A&E area is filthy with the hand sanitizer dispenser in the A&E area so filthy I could not touch it. Told conflicting information about treatment. Waiting for a call back regarding an operation for my son for over a week now and I am worried about his injury. Completely conflicting information regarding treatment.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn that your experience was not as positive as we would hope when you attended the Emergency Department at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. It is important to us that comments are heard and seen as an opportunity provided to the service to make changes and improvements wherever possible

We are sorry to learn that the cleanliness in the Emergency Department and the infection control standards you experienced were unacceptable and not in line with the high standards we aim to provide. The Matrons in the Emergency Department meet weekly with our partners Sodexo, who undertake the cleaning of our hospital, to address any concerns that are identified with the standard of cleanliness within the department. The standards are monitored daily by the Matrons to ensure and issues are resolved and identified improvements are consistent. Please accept our assurance that cleanliness and infection control are our priority and we will continue to ensure that we provide healthcare in a clean, safe environment. We hope the information provided assures you that we are taking the concerns you have raised seriously.

We are also sorry that you were told conflicting information relating to the care and treatment your son required. It is difficult to respond to the issues you’re raised fully without knowing all of your son’s details.
