After I sprained my ankle during one of my runs, my GP referred me to the x ray department at St Mary's for further information for a disgnosis. Unfortunately I only got taken the x rays without any further advise from the medical staff - and I couldn't walk because the sprained ankle was so painful. Thus I went to A&E myself where the medical staff complained that I'm not supposed to show up there without a further referral from my GP - and again I hardly couldn't walk. Given how useless A&E was, I gave it a last try at the urgent care centre. After waiting for a few hours, a nurse had a look at my x rays and did some movement tests with my ankle. The nurse has been very kind providing me a bandage and some crutches which at least reduced the pain slightly. Based on the x rays, the nurse believed that the ankle wouldn't be fractured. Though this has been not a definite diagnosis and the nurse indicates that I would get a call in a weeks time. After a week I didn't get a call from anyone, and still had to live with the fear that my ankle would be fractured. Given these experiences, I do appreciate the nurse's help though consider the remaining medical staff to be completely useless and disrespectful. I'd never recommend anyone going there - especially for an urgent case. Very bad service and lack of diagnosis!!
