Waited over 8 hours to be moved from AAu to ward that has been identified by senior management to be the most appopriate ward for my Daughter who has complex care needs. Daughter also has hospital aquired infection which is antibiotic resistant. Constantly told " ward ready to take her, won't be long now just finishing the cleaning of the room". Out of sheer frustration I went up to the ward to see 6 empty beds available and conveniently told "we were just going to ring down and say we are ready for her". HCA staff ended up moving her rather than wait any longer. On arrival in room became aware of blood spatter on floor and previous patients snacks ie popcorn/crisps under the bed, on opening bathroom door was met by an overpowering stench of urine, the floor was actually sticky. On wiping floor with antibacterial wipe the cloth was immediately covered in foul smelling urine. Staff informed immediately who offered to move her to a different room and said that room would now be deep cleaned. This is totally unacceptable. Patients/relatives need to be aware with standards such as these you run the risk of being made much sicker in this hospital, than when you initally arrived.
