"Attended EPAU and WHU during miscarriage"

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

I was referred to the EPAU after it was suspected that I had had a missed miscarriage. The sister was amazing, kind and sensitive and quickly admitted me into WHU. The nurses there were phenomenal and, although I was at times NBM, they made sure I was well looked after and supported emotionally. They even let my husband come In all day to support me emotionally. I had a scan in the maternity dept which was upsetting but they did find me a private room to wait in. There was then a long wait to see a Dr but the nurses made sure I was well-informed and supported. I made the choice to come home and complete the miscarriage at home and naturally. I was armed with info, pain relief and lots of helpful tips. There was never a feeling that I was left to get on with it. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Thank you for your feedback on our Women’s Health Unit.

It is lovely to read that the care, treatment and compassion you were shown was of the high standards we aim to achieve, however I am very sorry that your pregnancy ended so sadly. I will share these kind words with the team, who I am sure, will be greatly encouraged by them
