"A & E Department on 27th July"

About: Wexham Park Hospital

My husband, with history of angina & endartectomy, was referred by GP who thought he might have had a heart attack or a TIA. Seen by a nurse within 15 mins of arrival. Less than 15 mins later taken into Blue Area and there had various tests & examinations by nurses and doctors. His examination by the doctor was most thorough. Seen by two consultants & referred for further tests which took place two days later. We were both so impressed by the way Tom was treated. Within the space of 48 hours he was seen by three doctors and two consultants, and his condition assessed on paper by a third consultant. Several nurses carried out procedures. Receptionists were kind and efficient. Everyone without exception responded to us with courtesy, care, cordiality & thoroughness. No one gave the impression of being rushed, everyone explained what was happening & checked details with care. Wexham (and later Heatherwood) & our GP gave us an experience of the NHS at its best. Thank you.

Thank you for leaving your feedback on your husband's visit to A&E. I am so pleased that you both had a positive experience, and you felt it was the NHS at it's best. I will pass on your comments to the teams involved so they can share them with the staff. It is always good to hear when we get it right too. Best wishes to you and Tom in his recovery Claire Marshall Head of Patient Experience
