What I liked
I have, up to now, had 5 hip replacement/revision operations at Glenfield - the 6th is looming.
I have always received exemplary care from the staff.
What could be improved
More auxilliary staff available to tend to patients needs.
Food not that good.
Anything else?
After my last operation I feel I was sent home too soon. I have 2 flights of stairs to negotiate - staff knew this. I was assessed by the physios as being OK for stairs. That was me climbing ONE flight, but feeling weak, dizzy and nauseous. 2 flights 'almost killed me'.
3 days is not enough time to recover from a major operation and be expected to negotiate 2 flights of stairs. When I started having these ops some 15 years ago I was in for almost a fortnight.
