"Ridiculous service"

About: Dorset County Hospital

So far I've waited 34 weeks to even be diagnosed. I've had 4 appointments cancelled, Attended an allergy test with less than 2 days notice which failed as i wasn't given the correct information over the phone by the receptionist. I've waited over 80 days for the results of a CT scan!! and I was incorrectly discharged without even being told what the CT showed or finding out what was wrong.. I was seen once by a temp DR who said I had an obvious problem but was unsure of what this was. I had to be re referred by my GP and when an appointment was booked it was then cancelled a month before as i was told that I am a new patient and a new referral.. this is not the case. 34 weeks down the line i have written letters and made phone calls.. Contacted PALS on 2 occasions who tried to help the first time and the second time have not bothered to respond! Awful service!!

I am so sorry to read about your experience which is not what I would expect for any patient. I am not sure why you have experienced so many cancellations, incorrect information and delays in getting your test results. I would be very happy to look into these for you or if you would like to speak to the divisional manager for this service, he would be happy to look into your concerns. To speak to the Laurie Scott, divisional manager for surgery, I would be grateful if you could contact him on 01305 255476. I will also speak to our PALs team to find out why your second contact was not dealt with. I am truly sorry you have had such a poor experience and I would like the opportunity to try and rectify this for you.
