What I liked
I attended as a day patient for a liver biopsy. The angiography area where I underwent the procedure was spotless. The nursing staff were very professional and also very considerate of patient need for information and reassurance. The procedure itself was delayed because of an unexpected and unavoidable problem, but I and the other patients waiting were kept fully informed, for which I was very grateful. The procedure itself was done very professionally, with again the doctor keeping me fully informed of what they were doing and what I needed to do. Post procedure care both in Angiography and subsequently in Odames Day Ward was excellent with everyone very friendly and reassuring, yet utterly professional.
Anything else?
As you might expect I was very apprehensive about the procedure since I had not had that particular one before, or attended Leicester Royal Infirmary as a day patient. However I felt the care I received was excellent, and I would certainly feel less apprehensive if I require further treatment at the hospital
