"Overstretched , but lovely and helpful staff"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

The consultant and nurse were both very lovely and helpful. However the department was majorly stretched and understaffed. I needed the toilet and there were no nurses available so the consultant had to fetch me a bedpan which my mum then helped me with (the consultant did offer, which he shouldn't have had to. However my mum was a nurse and is still a qualified midwife so she was able to help) they were also understaffed on porters which meant long waiting times getting to my X-ray and CT scans which again was putting a significant amount of pressure on the department.

Dear Ab123

Thank you for taking the time to post these comments, the staff are always pleased to hear that their patients have had a good experience in the A&E Department.

At times of peak activity the staff do have to work exceptionally hard and unfortunately delays can sometimes occur, I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding for the waits you endured whilst you were in A&E.

Regards

Karen Hansord

A&E Sister
