"Lack of continuity upsets me"

About: Rainbow Services South Ayrshire Home Care

(as a service user),

I had South Ayrshire council carers for 15 years and didn’t have any bother. 3 ½ years ago I was moved onto Rainbow. They don’t have the continuity which I need. It’s not the girls, it’s the way they are rostered. They also don’t keep their staff, they seem to leave after only weeks on the job.

I was used to having someone regular, I knew who was coming to my house. Since I started with Rainbow I haven’t had someone regular. If they would just leave the girls and not chop and change them. I’m not a well person and it really upsets me.

I’ve asked to have the same person at nights, of course I understand they need days off, but nothing has changed. They say ‘we will see what we can do’ but it’s been this way for 3 ½ years. I’ve had a good girl for the past two weeks and I would really like to keep her.

When I’m at the day centre I don’t need my dinner at 4. 50pm, I would prefer it later, 5. 30pm would be better. I feel sometimes the girls come early so they can leave early but this doesn’t suit me.

It’s very frustrating because I used to have a good service.

I am sorry to hear that the homecare service that you receive on behalf of South Ayrshire council supplied by Rainbow care services is not to your satisfaction. In order for me to deal with your particular case, I need for you to advise our daycare staff at Overmills daycare in order that I take up your particular concerns with Rainbow. Currently, I have no name or contact number for you.I will ensure that the issue that you raise is addressed with Rainbow care services.
