"Excellent Care, Lovely Staff - A credit to the NHS..."

About: Moseley Hall Hospital

In addition to the review left by Laura Day I would also like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff members of Ward 6 who were working on Thursday 30th July/Friday 31st July 2015. I'm the grand daughter of Mr Walter Day. He passed away on the 31st July whilst at Moseley Hall Hospital after being transferred from The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was 91 years of age and very poorly. The staff on the ward were fantastic with him. Treating him with the utmost respect whilst maintaining his dignity at all times. He was almost immediately moved to a private side room where we could spend his last hours in private. I would like to mention the ward manager who was an absolute credit to the NHS along with two nurses. I would also like to thanks a Bank member of staff who was working on an all day shift on Ward 6 on 30th July. They alerted the doctors to our concerns and helped us move all of my Grandfathers belongings into the private room. They were a star! Although this is a very sad time for us as family, we are eternally grateful to all of the staff on ward 6 who made our grandfathers last hours the best they could possibly be. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff in there were also a credit to your establishment. Thank you so much and keep up the good work

Dear Kelly Thank you for your kind words. I have passed both this posting and Laura's comments on to the Clinical Team Leader today, and she has shared them with her team. It is very important to the team that patients are treated with dignity, respect and compassion; and this is all the more important when a patient approaches the end of their life. I am very sorry for your loss, and hope you take strength from knowing your grandfather's last few days were comfortable.
