What I liked
The location of the hospital was farely close to where i reside, so access to the hospital was relatively easy and visitors could come and go easily
What could be improved
Doctors could give the patients more information regarding their case,
Anything else?
I came into A&E at the end of feb 2009 with abdominal pain, a kidney stone was diagnosed, after a week i was discharged once the pain had subsided, a month later i was back in A&E with same pain, after a week a nephrostomy tube was inserted in my side to relieve the pressure on the kidney, i was then sent home with a tube in my side and a bag strapped to my leg for 4 weeks, after which i was admitted again to have an internal stent put in to replace the nephrostomy tube ( i was told this op would be under a general anaesthetic, it was done under a local anaesthetic and was unbelievably painful ) i was then sent home for 4 weeks with the internal stent in, all this time i have been passing blood stained urine every 15 mins or so, it is also very painful to pass urine. On the 15 of june 2009 i was due to have an oppperation to remove the stent and the offending kidney stone, on the morning of the op, it was cancelled, i now wait for another opperation appointment date.
All this time there has been nothing but a catalogue of errors on the part of the hospital, as i constantly suffer from kidney stones i will be looking at other hospitals in the future and would not reccommend any one to attend Stafford General Hospital
