"An outstanding Hospital"

About: Hexham General Hospital

I have, in the past Two days have had an operation for an Umbilical Hernia. I feel I must place on record what an outstanding team of people you have at this marvellous hospitall. I must say special thanks to the Consultant who answered every question I asked in a very professional manner and put me at ease at the outset. Also the Anaesthetist who with their wit and knowledge made me feel comfortable from the outset. Finally a special thank you to "my" nurse, nothing was too much bother for them and entertained my every request with the utmost civility , they really are a caring person Every person I met in the Hospital went way above my expectations. Thank you all . Ian Lightfoot

Dear Ian, Thank you so much for finding the time to post this. Providing an excellent experience of care is all about exceeding expectations I feel, and so it's lovely to hear about how our staff have thoroughly delighted you at every point of your care. It will give me great pleasure to be able to share your review with the team and for them to recognise the way they have all contributed - thank you ! It seems the nurse caring for you has lots of reasons to feel especially proud. By noticing her actions and celebrating them, I feel sure that we create conditions where this kindness is readily available for more patients in the future. Makes our staff feel appreciated too which is important. I hope your recovery is well on track and that you are not in any pain or discomfort ? Do let us know if there is anything you need. With all best wishes, Annie
