About: Altrincham General Hospital

Had to go for two blood test on specific days first test done on a Friday 1hr 20 min wait. Second test on the Monday not too bad about 20 mins. To my absolute disgust today I get a call from my GP to say the first set of tests need done again because they didn't take enough blood! And wait for it the second lot were not labelled with what they were to be tested for! How bad is that? So now I have to wait yet another month to repeat the same tests! I know the NHS is stretched and we are very lucky to have such service but no wonder it's on its end when they can't take bloods right twice!

Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to learn that your experience was not as positive as we would hope on your visit to Altrincham Hospital in July 2015. It is important to us that comments are heard and seen as an opportunity provided to the service to make changes and improvements wherever possible.

In response to your comment, I can tell you that we are currently reviewing our Phlebotomy Service at Altrincham. Your concerns have been raised directly with the department involved, so that they can use the learning from your experience as part of the review of the service, so that others don’t experience the same issues as you did.
