"Radiotherapy Department"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

My husband went to the Radiotherapy Department and went to the receptionist to register in for his appointment, my husband never complains but when he sat down he informed me how miserable the receptionist had been, not very pleasent atall. I was very annoyed at hearing this as people who are visiting this department are their because they are, or have been ill. It does not cost very much to make a patient feel at ease, a smile and good communication goes a long way. This was completely different when my husband went for his treatment the staff were wonderfull with him.

Thank you for taking the time to share your husband's experience in the Radiotherapy department and I am sorry he found the receptionist's manner and attitude so poor. I shall pass this to the manager for the service for discussion with the staff to ensure they are aware of how their behaviour affects patients.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding the treatment staff, again I shall see that they receive these.
