"Wouldnt allow me change my appointment"

I contacted the maternity service at the number and requested to change my appointment due to me forgetting about a very important meeting at work for the same date and time- the person on the line told me they would not change my appointment and I should tell my workplace that my health and baby's health is far more important than my job. I was in shock and just decided not to argue- meaning that I had to focribly attend the appointment despite the incpnvenience. I think the staff has been told to dissuade or refuse amending appointments to expecting mums due to hectic work schedules. Just disgusting.
