Yesterday I had an appointment in the endoscopy department...After a wait of an hour and a half with no information other than you are next on the list. My pain relief is morphine. Due to the procedure there had to be a 6 hour gap between eating, drinking and medication. My last medication was at 08.30 am, the level of pain was unbearable to the extent I was physically sick. I asked the member of staff on reception how much longer, all the response was you are next on the list, that's fine but I need a time frame. Sorry cannot give you that. Ok fair enough my appointment was 2.50 it is now 16.27 I cannot wait any longer. Ok I will let them know you are canceling! At no point did the receptionist give any information about delays to anyone. Even those coming in after me we not told it would be late. The member of staff who took my medical history and ticked the boxes ont he forms, looked at the box ( plastic clip box) oh i'm not writing that down, just take that through with you. Despite having a full list from the gp. I will never be treated at this hospital again.
