The care my 8 month old daughter has received has been shocking! I'm a nurse myself so know what should be done and it hasn't been! 4 days of her vomiting output being higher than her intake and not once has bloods been taken, a Dr attempted to cannulate her failed and told me afterwards that they couldn't actually see the veins (as she is a chunky monkey baby) so they just stabbed her with a needle twice & hoped for the best! Her blood sugar dropped and they gave her oral glucojuice which triggered her vomiting as she can't tolerate anything orally but didn't bother re checking her blood sugar till I told them till and it still took them an hour to get back to me! She's being treated for gastroenteritis (a very contagious stomach bug) not once has she been barrier nursed, her beds would be stripped from vomit but then the mattress wasn't wiped clean before they attempted to put a clean sheet on! I haven't seen 1 member of staff wash their hands after touching her! I have been here for 48 hours and only offered food once which was a soggy cold piece of toast this morning! And not one nurse or even several of the Drs who have so call cared for her have bothered introducing themselves! Also no admission forms have been conpleted, MRSA screening and she is yet to be given a wrist band!! 'm appalled and angry by the care here!!
