On a general basis, I feel the current system to be sent a letter to inform you of a hospital appointment is completely out dated.
I missed some without being able to cancel because I was away for a period of time and actually was able to read the letter only after the appointment day!
With an email, I would have been able to access the message whatever my geographical location!
The same for telephone calls ( unless the NHS considers it economical to call me on my mobile abroad! ! ! )
