"Visit to the RUH A&E April 2015"

About: Royal United Hospital

After burning my hand with hot wax in April, the staff at the RUH A&E dealt with it promptly and effectively. What stands out to me the most was the caring aspect of the nurses and other healthcare professionals, they clearly sympathised with my discomfort and made sure I was as comfortable as I could be. In particular, when one nurse came to asses the situation, who put a reassuring hand on my arm which seems like a small act but at the time it helped enormously and genuinely calmed me down. They explained everything well including the follow up visit to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. They helped minimise the trauma of a nasty accident, and their care and the subsequent care I received meant that the wound fully healed with no disruption to hand function or sensation. A big thank you to all that work at the department.
