My brother was admitted to here and all I can say is do not go there. You end up feeling worse than you did when you first went. Staff have no respect for patients and make them feel isolated and alone and laughed at! Not once was my brother checked on to see if he had even eaten each day. (he has a food problem so needs certain foods or he wont eat it).... He was on an assessment period for 4 weeks and during that time was just left to wander up and down the ward with nothing else to do. He wasn't told what would happen regarding treatment and he was locked out of his room at certain times which made him panic when he felt anxious and needed his own space. Disgusting place with smelly wards and no input from what are supposed to be trained mental health staff!!!! My brother actually kicked off st one point after being locked out of his room. After the incident I was told on the phone 'i don't think we can deal with your brothers aggressive behaviour.... Isn't that what's to be expected when dealing with mentally ill patients!!! Sort it out!!! I think an inspection needs to be done of this place so they can be ordered to improve a few things..mainly their staff!!!
