"bed management"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

I the wife of a very poorly patient admitted on Wednesday with acute kidney failure. He was admitted onto the Ambulatory unit which was excellent, followed by some hours in AMU - the least said the better. AT 0400 Thursday he was moved to Wheal Coates ward where he receives good care. However yesterday he was, at last, due to move to Grenville ward which is where he should be. All packed up and ready to go we had word that the bed manager had taken the bed. What a terrible let down, my husband was very upset and I am extremely angry. I have just spoken to him on the phone and it seems he may now also have a bowel infection and has been up most of the night. He really should be in the right place. It is now 4 days since he was admitted and I don't think this is at all acceptable.
