My 92 year old mum was recently admiited from home as she was unwell. She was in the SAU ward where after tests it was discovered she had a gall stone, which was removed and mum was moved to another ward. She was treated so well in both wards, the staff were kindness itself and couldn't do enough for her.Unfortunately after she had been in a few days my sister was admitted to SAU with inoperable peretinitus. We as a family kept vigil round her bed for 3 days and the nurses brought mum down to sit with her daughter. At all times the staff were so caring and helpful both to us as a family and to our mum and sister.Nothing was too much trouble,we were offered drinks, blankets ,pillows and one of the nurses even arranged respite care for mum.The staff at this hospital are amazing, not only on the wards, but in the restaurant and even the magazine kiosk everyone was so polite and kind,If i had a choice of which hospital to go to should i ever need one i would choose this one but i come from Lancashire so i doubt i would get that choice. In this day and age when people seem to get bad treatment within the NHS it is nice to be able to write something positive,so keep up the good work Huddersfield,we have no complaints at all.
"brilliant all round care"
