I feel that Dirrans is the only service that does what it says on the tin.
I'd felt let down by the NHS, the police and other council services. Council and health departments didn't talk to each other. Bits of my problem were going to so many different people, it was a nightmare to get things to come together.
Dirrans saved my life. They just make it work. They are person centred, they listen to your story and say 'we need to get this fixed' and start contacting services. Once they have solved one problem they don't stop, they keep the effort going. They are fantastic
I get bad mood swings and headaches triggered by stress, this place has calmed me down. They are teaching me about it and it helps me take a step back and realise things aren't really that bad. My confidence is sky rocketing.
Communication between council departments needs to improve. Staff need to listen to all information, not just what they think is relevant for their department. They also need to think how health issues impact on a person e. g. I am often not able to remember appointments. It shouldn't take Dirrans phoning on my behalf for me to be taken seriously.
