"What can you make in 15 minutes?"

About: Ballantrae Rural Initiative Care in the Community Ltd

(as a service user),

I get BRICC carers twice a day. They come for 15 minutes at night to get my dinner, I don’t think it’s long enough – what can you make in 15 minutes? Half an hour would be much better. If I want a pie heated I need to have the oven on and sometimes I forget, then I can only have a sandwich.

I have a carer who brings me crumpets, they’re great, she’s so kind to me.

It is very frustrating for everyone when there is only a 15 minute time allocation. Unfortunately, the time allocated is decided by Social Services Dept or hospital. If you really feel that the time is insufficient to meet your needs I would suggest that you speak with your social worker or ask one of your carers to speak to them on your behalf.
