What I liked
My Mother is being treated for Pancreatic Cancer, she receieved a Whipples Operation. The time between seeing the surgeon and having the operation was a matter of days which made a huge difference as my mother was in constant pain.
ASfter the operation she was on the High Dependancy Unit on West Ward 3. the care and attention she received from the nursing staff was exceptional. I really do feel i owe my mums life to the professional, pr-active team.
She was then moved to the ward and this care continued.
She has been back a few times with infection and the care has been superb, even whilst at home any problems we had they were more than happy to discuss and offer solutions.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has looked after my mother. West Ward 3 is a credit to the Hospital.
What could be improved
the only improvement would be the additional of nurses to the main ward area, things often took a long time, but we fully appreciated this was due to the amount of staff available, which is totally out of their control
