"The new service is quite good"

(as a service user),

I used to go to day service in Maybole but it closed up so now I’ve been coming to Girvan for three months.

The new service is quite good. The meals are perfect, you get a choice of food. The staff are quite pleasing. I enjoy the bowls, the skittles and the quiz.

The bus comes for me. I come two days but I’m trying to get a 3rd day, my son phoned up, now we are waiting to hear if I get in. I did complain after a few weeks here that the staff were quite slow in doing things, I was told they would get some extra staff to improve this, they are now trying to do things faster, it’s getting better.

The new bus will make transport better, there will be more room for people in wheelchairs.

I am glad to hear that the move to our Girvan daycare service has gone so well for you, moving from one service to another can take sometime to get used to. I am sure that the staff at Nursery court are now better able to deliver a more effective service to you now that they are more conversant with your needs.

I am pleased also, to hear that our new transport arrangements are being viewed so positively by you.

We do review the needs of people attending and seeking to attend our daycare units, it is through this means that we allocate places. The unit manager will ensure that you and your family will be included in any discussions regarding your care requirements whilst attending daycare.

Lastly, I would like to thank you for taking the time to let us know your views of our service, it is important to us that you do so, as it allows us to make improvements to the service that we want to deliver to you.
